Little Cottage @ Burma Road Penang

Time fly very fast, so fast already pass 1 month and I left my blog here nearly 1 month too. Such a busy month for me –March 2010, hopefully April will be a nice month for me. Seem like when peoples grow up, burden will also follow to grow. Suddenly feel like a lot of stuff need to be settle and involve a lot of decision making too =(

Ok, back to the meal. Actually this is my valentine’s meal. Hahah…post it after around 2 months ya. Really busy so that drag until now only post. Haih…still got a lot of meal that I had during CNY but yet post it here, anyway I will try to post it one by one but might slow a bit. Heheh…

Little Cottage located at Burma road and there is another branch called Little Cottage 2 located at waterfall near the Penang Botanical Garden/Youth Park. It serves delicious Western and Italian Cuisine. I been there few time and I like this restaurant as the environment is nice and food delicious too. It has a very warm and romantic ambiance with soft lighting. You may try it out. Heheh…

Prosperity Bun

Wolfberry & Mandarin Orange Chicken Chop -- RM28.80

Is special set dinner that only available during Chinese New Year. The set included prosperity bun, soup, main course, dessert and coffee. Overall, the food is delicious with reasonable price

Full Blossom Lychees Fish Fillet -- RM28.80

Combination with lychees make the taste quite special, simply nice...

@ The Sun Restaurant at Macalister Road, Penang

@ The Sun is located at the ground floor of the historical Sun Yat-Sen Centre at Macalister Road, Penang. Really can’t imagine that the environment of restaurant is so nice although it located at the busy main road – Macalister Road. The decoration is simple and nice and the dim light ambiance makes the environment feel so relaxing and cozy.
There is small gift boutique just right beside the restaurant. The environment there also very nice and there is mainly for hi-tea purpose. Besides, there is a small gift, souvenir and some of nice craft pieces for sale.

This is my first time at @ the Sun restaurant. Initially I am interested on the Loius Café for my lovely friends birthday celebration but after recommend by Chee so we all agreed and decided to have it a try at here since all of us never been here. Overall, @ The Sun didn’t disappointed me and my friends in term of foods and the services. They provided very good services for us and make us feel so comfortable while having meal there =)

There is Autumn Lounge/Gift Boutique just right beside the Spring Chamber Restaurant. You can have a visit before your meal as the souvenir/gift was nice and cutie. Besides, there are open air and indoor for hi-tea purpose

You can either choose soup of the day or Tempura prawn with apple celery if you are odered set dinner. For me, I like both...heheh...both are yummy =)

Seafood Carbonara -- RM24

Spaghetti with salmon, green mussels, sea scallops, sauted garlic in carbonara source

Chicken Breast with Red Wine Sauce --RM 26

Actually there are few type of source for you to choose like black pepper sauce, brown mushroom sauce, pesto creme sauce and etc

Grilled Chicken mushroom tarragon sauce served with potato wedges -- RM 38nett(set dinner) Among all the dishes, I like this the most as very yummy... The sauce was nice and the chicken was soft enough

Pan fried butter fish Kikkoman cream served with boiled potato --RM38 nett (set dinner)

The taste not bad but I feel the fish too thick

Grilled beef loin garlic thyme sauce served with garlic mashed potato -- RM38 nett (set dinner)

This dish doesn't at the menu but one of my friend (Chee) know the chef so got this special order. Heheh...However, the meat slightly harder...

Same as the beef, the meat slightly harder but the sauce is not bad

Coffee and Cake are included in the set dinner

You can choose coffee or tea and for cake there are 2 flavor which are Marble cheese cake or Chocalate moist cake. I prefer marble cheese cake as the chocolate too rich for me

Last but not least, again wish my lovely friend (Phooi Ee) Happy birthday and hope she did enjoy the meal =)

Smoky Jack at Upper Penang Road

I had my lunch at Smoky Jack located at Upper Penang road. Since no work so planned go for good food that not usually can go during working time. I heard Smoky Jack quite a long time as its famous on the unusually attention-seeking design. Its comes with a unique interior design which uses recycles item like doors, barrels, faux wooded branches, and I like the most is the huge fiber glass cocoon seats that provide more privacy and romantic.

Overall I like there as food was delicious and they served professionally. Although the portion of food looks small but I believe there is just nice to fill up your stomach.Besides, the cost was great as there is promotion 50% for second set lunch that you ordered. The price range of set lunch is from RM15.80++ until RM28.80++. Is great, right? But not sure when they will stop this kind of promotion. Hope I can visit there again before the promotion stop. Heheh...

and the middle down one is the ceiling view...they use old wooden doors and windows to cover up. Special enough, right?

These are included in the set lunch. Choose either peach tea, tea or coffee

All set lunch will served with fresh salad or soup of the day as starter. Soup on that day was carrot soup and the salad was just normal plain vege with something like olive oil. Taste not bad for both

Garlic bread which come with the carrot soup. Again just a simple garlic bread but taste good

Smoky BBQ Pork Ribs -- RM 18.80++

Served with their in house BBQ source. Not sure was due to I like pork or.... I feel this one taste good, the meat was soft enough. Actually this is one of the signature item for Smoky Jack

Sealand Combo -- RM 28.80++

Combination of Tiger Prawn & Pork Chop. Taste not bad but if compare with the Pork Ribs above, I prefer Pork. Heheh...

Vintage Bulgaria Restaurant @ Penang

Recommended by friends and some of blog’s comment so had a friend’s birthday celebration at Vintage Bulgaria that located next to Ingolf,Tanjung Bungah. From the name, you can know that there is Bulgaria cuisine. When we just arrived at the restaurant, the waiter just served us to the lower ground of the shop. The warm lighting and the interior design made the environment cozy and cottage-like. Hmm…very suitable for a romantic meal. Btw, there is upper floor which has both dining and bar area. This area is more suitable for the events or friends gathering.

Overall I like the environment and I like the food too =)

Singapore Sling (RM23) -- gin, brandy, cointreau, dom benedictine, grenadine, pineapple & lemaon juice
Mineral Water (RM3.50) -- Just get to know that there was not free warm water served

Set Dinner included the bread with butter

A large cup of carrot soup was served after the bread which also included in the set dinner. You may refer to the server for the soup of the day

Garden Salad -- Variety of fresh seasonal vegetables with homemade dressings. You can choose either salad or soup of the day as appetizer for the set dinner.

Bulgarian Shashlik (Chicken or Pork) RM61 -- Skewered meat and vegetables grilled to perfection. The taste was nice but feel like the portion slighly big but for the meat favourite like me sure have no problem. Heheh...

SeaFood Platter (RM65) -- An assortment of cooked prawns, fish fillets, squid and mussels. I like the mussels and prawn so muchie. The taste was good and the seafood was fresh enough. Yummy...

Dessert of the day. You can refer to server when you order for the set dinner. Maybe we are full at the end so i felt this was just a normal cake, nothing special

Harvest In Cafe, Penang

We were celebrated Chee's birthday at Harvest In Cafe. This was our first visited at Harvest In.I think i will come again as the food is delicious, environment is nice and simple, price is reasonable (no service charge!). I will recommend to my friends if they are yet try =)
